HB 25 | Fully Informed Jury Act of 2013StatusThis bill has been filed. SummaryIn a criminal jury trial, the court shall permit the defendant or his or her counsel to argue for jury nullification in its role as the judges of the law and the facts pursuant to Article I, Section I, Paragraph XI of the Constitution. DetailsAs a member of a jury, it is not only our right, but our obligation, to uphold the Constitution, even when Judges and Elected Representatives refuse. The concept is called Jury Nullification. Judges never mention it; but it is an established principle of American law, dating back to 1670 and William Penn.
This bill seeks to ensure that Jurors are fully informed of their constitutional right to judge both the facts and the application of the law.

HB 26 | Georgia Constitutional Carry Act of 2013StatusThis bill has been filed. SummaryEliminates the licensing requirement for Citizens to carry concealed weapons within the state of Georgia. Licensing will continue to be available for the purpose of reciprocity with other states. DetailsEvery individual has an intrinsic and inalienable right to defend his/her person. Not to be confused with Privileges, Rights are not granted or limited by government. Simply put, you do not have to ask anyone for permission to exercise a Right; otherwise, by definition, it's not a Right.
Our individual right to keep and bear arms was so important to our founding fathers that it was specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights in which it was carefully and deliberately guaranteed to the People, not the States. After all, an unarmed populace can not protect its rights, or its liberty.
The State's licensing requirement to exercise a God-given and constitutionally guaranteed individual right is repugnant to the constitution and invalid. This bill seeks to bring the State of Georgia's code more in line with our natural rights and constitutional law.
